Renee and Dawn’s fabulous day in Seattle!
Beaches, old-growth forests, shopping in hip neighborhoods, scenic views, the best coffee and chocolate in Seattle, this day will be super fun!
We will start the day with a visit to West Seattle, to check out Lincoln Park where we can stop and have a little snack on the water, and look for eagles, great blue herons, harbor seals and other critters. Then we will roam the Junction, which is the main business district (and home of the best record store in the city!) before heading down Schmitz Preserve Park for a short stroll in the old-growth forest. Then we will head over to Alki Beach for incredible views and lunch at Duke’s on the water.
After lunch, we’ll head over to Georgetown, my favorite neighborhood in the city. We will check out random art in this industrial neighborhood, the hat n boots, and stop by Frans for the best chocolate in Seattle!
Next, we will roll through Columbia City, a historic fun little neighborhood on our way to Seward Park for amazing views of Mt. Rainier (if the mountain is out!) a stroll in the “Magnificient Forest” to visit the old-growth and Seattle’s biggest, oldest tree! We will drive along Lake Washington for lovely views and fabulous architecture on our way to Capitol Hill.
Capitol Hill is packed with little independant shops, bars and restaurants, and is great for shopping! We will stop for the best coffee in Seattle (I’ve had all the coffee, seriously, this is the best!) and some great people-watching. We will visit the Pike/Pine corridor, home of one of the oldest lesbian bars in the country and heart of our LGBTQ community. Then we’re off to check out Volunteer Park for great views and lovely architecture. We will end with post-tour beverages before returning you to the Theodore.
